That Slovak team is pretty abysmal. Reway, Cehlarik and Cernak need to really pull through for them to avoid relegation. Especially with Marko Dano gone.

While a likely ceiling as a third line pest might not sound exactly like a "steal," but if you can get that in the seventh round (especially the Oilers) you call it a good day.

Habs have lots of potential steals because they go high risk high reward. Prime example Brendan Gallagher. The way it should be. (frank) the 3rd line safe picks. 3rd liners are a dime a dozen in free agency.

Sherbak looks like he could be a huge steal. I wonder how this Finnish Lehkonnen guy is coming along?

Struggling with consistency against the better competition in the Elitserien. Still a solid pick. He needs to be really good or Finland won't have a hope to compete, they lost a lot of offense.

I can only speculate, but knowing the way they run the national team there are three reasons that jump to mind.

1. A poor showing at the Super Series (the only legitimate reason)
2. Has never represented Russia in an international tournament
3. They are going mainly with a team familiar with itself and since he and Zykov were off playing in their respective leagues and at NHL training camps while the national team was coming together, they got left off.

In my opinion leaving him off him, Zykov and (if healthy) Svechnikov are mistakes, but then I'm not cheering for Russia so I'm happy about it
